ACR score is a scale to measure change in rheumatoid arthritis symptoms. [1] It is named after the American College of Rheumatology. The ACR score is more often used in clinical trials than in doctor patient-relationships, as it allows a common standard between researchers. Different degrees of improvement are referred to as ACR20, ACR50, ACR70.
The ACR scale is evaluated based on numbers that are assigned to the individual items, where Excellent equals to 5 and Bad equals to 1. The average numeric score over all experiment participants, for each test condition that was shown, is called the mean opinion score. It may also be used for telephony voice quality to give a mean opinion score.
The questions on the WOMAC are a subset of the questions of the Hip disability and osteoarthritis outcome score (HOOS). [4] Thus, a HOOS survey may also be used to determine a WOMAC score. A WOMAC test takes about 12 minutes, but is also available in a short form, (although this has not been as extensively tested as the full version).

BASDAI demonstrates a sensitivity to change within a short period of time. Following a 3-week physiotherapy course, the BASDAI showed a significant (p=0.009) 16.4% score improvement. Because the BASDAI reflects ongoing inflammatory disease, patients with advanced or "burned out" disease may score well on the test despite their advanced disease. [4]
The ACR is the inverse of the application factor (AF). This makes it easier for regulators to visualize data as whole numbers rather than decimals. The AF is calculated by dividing the Maximum Acceptable Toxicant Concentration (MATC) by the Lethal Concentration that kills 50% of test organisms in an acute toxicity test ( LC50 ).
