Phan Thiết (Vietnamese: [fan.tʰíət] ⓘ) is the capital of Bình Thuận Province on the southeast coast in Vietnam.While most of the inhabitants live in the city center, others reside in the four urban coastal wards, extending from Suối Nước beach in the northeast towards cape Kê Gà in the southwest.
The town, with approximately 25,000 residents, is a ward of the city of Phan Thiết. Mui Ne and the other wards of Phan Thiet stretch along the coast for approximately 50 kilometers and have been transformed into a resort destination since the mid-1990s, when many visited the area to view the solar eclipse of October 24, 1995.

In 1899 a company was formed to build the line Phan Rang–Tháp Chàm to Đà Lạt, then via Ninh Chữ Beach to Tây Nguyên, which in 1903 built a warehouse in the station area at Phan Thiết. In 1920 Biên Hòa –Tháp Chàm was connected passing via Phan Thiết and a station house was constructed.

The Diocese of Phan Thiết (Latin: Dioecesis Phanthietensis) is a Roman Catholic diocese of Vietnam. On 25 July 2009, Pope Benedict XVI selected Monsignor Joseph Vũ Duy Thống as bishop, who served until his death in 2017. The creation of the diocese in present form was declared 30 January 1975.
