The West Virginia Convention of Southern Baptist (WVCSB) is a group of churches affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention located in the U.S. state of West Virginia. Headquartered in Scott Depot, West Virginia, the convention is made up of 10 Baptist associations [1] and around 221 churches as of 2021. [2]
Bridgeport was first settled between 1771 and 1774 with the establishment of Simpson Creek Baptist Church, one of the first churches west of the Allegheny Mountains, and surrounding log cabins. [5] The town is believed to have been named for a bridge across Simpson Creek, but it is unclear what bridge was the namesake.

The southern terminus is at the Kentucky state line, where WV 49 becomes the short Kentucky Route 194 Spur upon crossing the Tug Fork of the Big Sandy River. The northern terminus is at U.S. Route 52 three miles (5 km) east of Williamson.
