As to why 60 mph was chosen, I can't be sure but my recollection is also that 60 mph was commonly the highway speed limit in English-speaking countries at the time. A concept version had been debuted at the 2011 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance event, while the production model was unveiled at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show. For 2014, the car was renamed the QX60. The QX60 was the first three-row crossover to be released by Infiniti. Design work was done through 2009, by Naoyuki Ohkoshi under Shiro Nakamura.
