The 2024–25 AJHL season is the 61st season of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL).Competition will begin on 24 August 2024 with a 35-game exhibition season, followed by a 54-game regular season schedule which will run from 13 September 2024 to 15 March 2025.
The team rebranded as the Grande Prairie Storm and moved to a brand new arena, the Canada Games Arena, built for the 1995 Canada Winter Games. In 1996, the Storm moved from the RMJHL to the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL).
The season began with 16 teams distributed between 2 divisions of 8 teams each. On January 20, 2024, the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) announced that the Blackfalds Bulldogs, Brooks Bandits, Okotoks Oilers, Sherwood Park Crusaders, and Spruce Grove Saints would move from the AJHL to the BCHL in the 2024-25 season. In 1966, the Oil Kings helped create the Western Hockey League. The issue in 1964 was that there were hundreds of junior-calibre players in the province, but really only one team to play for. A group of business and hockey people got together in 1964 and decided to form a Junior "A" league in an attempt to truly develop Alberta hockey.

The arena was built in 1995, for the Canada Games. It is home to the Grande Prairie Storm of the Alberta Junior Hockey League.
The Devon Xtreme are a junior "A" ice hockey expansion franchise expected to debut in the North Division of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) in the 2024–25 season.
