Importance: Topic creator; historian Bill Bryson states, in his A Short History of Nearly Everything, that Gibbs’ Equilibrium paper is "the Principia of thermodynamics". [19] In addition, this paper, in many ways, functions as the mathematical foundation of physical chemistry.

The questions are loosely grouped into 10 sets of 6 items; each set corresponds to a different chemistry topic. Typically, the topics are, in order, descriptive chemistry/laboratory techniques, stoichiometry, gases/liquids/solids, thermodynamics, kinetics, equilibrium, electrochemistry, electronic structure/periodic trends, bonding theories ...
General comment: unlike physics or math chemistry focus is very narrow. You only have an order of magnitude of length (Angstrom to nanometer) to play with. Chemistry was an infant two centuries ago. By now it is pretty much solved. The origin of life is the only significant question in the field.
