While the first years of the Hungarian cinema were in its infancy with mostly experimental films and short comedic sketches mostly conducted by enterprising hobbyists, by 1940 a large industry grew out of their footsteps, with famed film star idols and film studios.

The Puli (plural pulis or pulik) [1] [2] [3] is a small-medium breed of Hungarian herding dog known for its long, corded coat. The tight curls of the coat appear similar to dreadlocks . A similar-looking, but much larger breed – also Hungarian – is the Komondor .
The Pumi was bred as a herding dog and it is still so used today, working close to and driving livestock with its rapid movement, barking, and the occasional nip.
