The college offers undergraduate, graduate, and online programs in areas including elementary education, early childhood education, special education, and Educational Organization and Leadership. Peabody College offers roughly 20 master's degree programs, awarding either an EdM or an MPP degree. Students are able to pursue a dual degree with other Vanderbilt schools, such as Vanderbilt Law School or the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. Undergraduates are also able to enroll in fifth-year master's degree programs through Peabody.
The school began offering a BA degree in leadership and public policy in 2012, with a focus on global and domestic policy. To complete the degree students must complete the core curriculum required by the University of Virginia as well as an additional forty-two credit hours of Batten classes.
Founded in 1920, it was the first school to grant the EdD degree and the first Harvard school to award degrees to women. HGSE enrolls more than 800 students in its one-year master of education (Ed.M.) and three-year doctor of education leadership (Ed.L.D.) programs.
