The Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) is an autonomous parastatal under the Ministry of Education, Sports and Culture of the Republic of Zimbabwe, responsible for the administration of public examinations in Zimbabwean schools. [1]

Students take classes in Mathematics, English, Science, Shona or Ndebele, Geography, and History. The Ordinary Level Certificate Examination is taken after four years in Form 4 and expects students to pass a minimum of five subjects including Science, English, Mathematics, History and a practical subject like woodwork or agriculture. O-Levels are written after the first four years of high school, at the end of Form IV (Year 11). A-Levels after the last 2 years of school, in Form VI (Year 13).
Mpopoma High School students take part in many sporting activities. The girls' football team made history in 2019 when they became the pioneering Bulawayo team to win the girls' title at the COPA Coca-Cola national finals. The School Leaving Certificate is a certification obtained by a student on successful completion of an examination at the end of study at the schooling level in India.
