NBA 2K14 is a 2013 basketball video game developed by Visual Concepts and published by 2K. The fifteenth installment in the series, it was released on October 1, 2013, for Windows , PlayStation 3 , and Xbox 360 , [ 2 ] and the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One versions were released on the consoles' respective launch dates.
Each installment in the NBA 2K series emulates the National Basketball Association, and present slight improvements over the previous installments.As such, gameplay simulates a typical game of basketball, with the player controlling an entire team or a select player; objectives coincide with the rules of basketball and presentation resembles actual televised NBA games.

2K is an American video game publisher based in Novato, California.The company was founded under Take-Two Interactive in January 2005 through the 2K Games and 2K Sports labels, following Take-Two Interactive's acquisition of Visual Concepts that same month.
In 2013, 2K added NBA 2K13 Lite (in addition to the previously release NBA 2K13) to the iOS platform. [9] This version of the NBA 2K series of games is free, and appears to be a cut down/demonstration version of the full NBA 2K13 iOS title. On September 28, 2013, the Release updated the 2K13 and 2K14 versions from the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.
For those who've been following the 2K Twitter accounts, it very much seems the new NBA 2K14 on the next-gen consoles looks like it's been written from the ground up, whereas 2K14 for current gen' looks very much like a minor update of NBA2K13 (with a lot of features removed, the Lebron mode added, new music and a couple of bug fixes).
