The Jack Pine Conference is a high school athletic conference in northern lower Michigan made up of Class B and C schools. The sports involved include: Football, Basketball, Baseball, Softball, Wrestling, Volleyball, Bowling, Track and Field, Cross Country, and Golf.
He began his football career in Beaverton, Oregon where he was a two way starter for the State Champion Beaverton High School Beavers. [1] He attended USC (University Of Southern California), [1] [2] where he played in the 1985 Rose Bowl against Ohio State, defeating them 20–17.
In 1985, Beaverton High School was honored in the Blue Ribbon Schools Program, the highest honor a school can receive in the United States. [19] In 2008, 75% of the school's seniors received a high school diploma. Of 521 students, 390 graduated, 99 dropped out, five received a modified diploma, and 27 were still in high school in 2009.
