The EF8–15mm f / 4L FISHEYE USM is a fisheye zoom lens for Canon digital single-lens reflex cameras (DSLRs) with an EF lens mount. Canon full-frame cameras have used the EF lens mount since 1987. In comparison with that mount, the RF mount's inner diameter is the same at 54 mm. [1] The RF mount's flange focal distance at 20 mm is much shorter than that of the Canon EF and EF-S mounts at 44 mm. The EF-M mount has a flange focal distance of 18 mm.
Conversely, the same lens can produce different fields of view when mounted on different cameras. For example, a 35 mm lens mounted on a full-frame Canon EOS 5D provides a slightly wide-angle view, while the same lens mounted on an APS-C Canon EOS 400D provides a "normal" or slightly telephoto view.
It is technically a FL lens, as it requires manual diapragm operation and stopped-down metering. The 15mm f / 2.8 is a full-frame fisheye, rendering a 180 degree field of view across the diagonal of the 35mm frame with the considerable barrel distortion of a fisheye lens. It includes all FD features and may be used with automatic exposure.
