Mar 24, 2014. Messages. 3,059. Yesterday at 9:40 AM. #3. if you are hoping to give out numbers verbally or in writing for some sort of performance but want to be sure not to be giving real numbers maybe you could use prefix 555. use the area code of a city of your choice and than 555 and than any random 4 digits for the last four.
The problem is that spammers will still call the actual phone number, rather than the GV number. Spammers now fake the caller ID to match my phone's 3-digit CO prefix with the last 4 digits random, so it will look like someone I know. I've set the phone to reject any calls from my CO prefix, since I'm the only person I know with that CO prefix.

You could use a netbook or tablet pc and use the free WiFi at a coffee shop. You can also get a google voice app for an Android phone. For that matter, I use to send a friend text from my Yahoo email and in the "to:" line I put 000-000-0000@text.vzw.com where 000-000-0000 was the phone number. A prepaid phone is a little more expensive, but ...
There are also ads scattered across the internet for prizes that do the same thing. Sometimes what happens is that another person will enter in a 'fake' number, not realising that someone else out there may have that number. Just to explain a bit about how 'premium messaging' works.
I get a text message from 611611 that says: "Your Messenger verification code is G-******" (with ****** being a random six digit number). I get the message regardless of whether I've sent or received any other texts that day. I've texted back "STOP" repeatedly, but I keep getting the message. My phone is actually a Total Wireless phone (Galaxy ...
I'm getting several per day, and one caller from the fake "311" area code number even left a message saying "hello.. hello" (perhaps the old "hello" scam where they record your voice). I'm blocking these calls on my Android phone with "Should I Answer" app, which works great, but on iPhone not so easy, since you have to block #'s one at a time ...

While there is no SMS to e-mail gateway for Truphone you can set up the SMS Forwarding app to also forward texts to your Truphone number directly (there is no cost for incoming text messages on Truphone). Other Methods and their Drawbacks 1. Port your U.S. Mobile number to Google Voice and then all texts will be readable in e-mail or Hangouts.
Device (s) Samsung T201G. Jan 3, 2009. #4. You can activate Tracfones (and Net10 phones) anonymously from a computer, it asks for name and address but has an option to skip the question. Do not get a Massachusetts (I hope that state is spelled correctly) number, anonymous cell phones are not allowed to be activated with that state's phone numbers.
