As for wireless VR, it's nice, but I'm not convinced it can beat Link (cable) in terms of graphics fidelity and lowest latency. Virtual Desktop is the most popular app ($20) ALVR is a free option that works with both NVIDIA and AMD graphics cards, and I believe it's open-source.
Ebay has them for around 10-19+ dollars, Its where I got my 16Ft Type C to USB 3 quest 2 compatible cable from. Amazon should have some as well if you don't like ebay. You just have to make sure its 5gbps, it should say its compatibly with quest 2. Sadly quite a few of them doesn't mention it.
Oculus Quest 2 Link Cable Alternative. So on my computer I already have a USB C port on it. And near every cable on this subreddit that is recommended it for USB C to A. I don't want to go blow near $80 (Canadian) on the offlical link cable. So all I need is a 5-10 meter USB C cable (3.0 Speeds) but I am not sure if any cable will work or there ...
Amazon RIITOP. This C-C has good reviews, and is 5 feet longer, with a relay amplifier to boost the signal over the added distance. 20 feet for $27. Amazon Orzero. If you dont have a USB-C port on your computer, I would suggest this cable over the one you linked, as it is $16 cheaper. 16 feet for $20. I tested this one, and it worked great with ...
Oculus Quest 2 Link Cable 5M. USB3.0A to USB C Oculus Link Cable 5GBps Data Transmission, Used for Oculus Quest1/2 and PC Games. …
The Kuject Design cable is good (~$20). Most motherboards don't supply enough power to keep the Quest 2 charged while in-use, so I'd get one with a power injector. If you use Link you should also go into the Debug Tool and raise the Encode Bitrate. The default value (0) resorts to ~130mbps which is pretty bad. 1.
Derpywolf17. Alternatives to the $80 link cable. Disscussion. Alright so after doing quite a bit of research on an alternative to the $80 link cable that oculus provided here’s what I’ve learned. Ok so the $80 cable is so expensive because it is a fiber optic cable, unlike other cables that are copper wire. The link cable transmits about ...
Use the Quest close to your 5GHz router. Use a 5GHz router. Router provided by your ISP is not recommended, a dedicated router should be working much better. Change WiFi channel to a channel that isn’t to much populated. Change to h265 codec (smaller bandwidth usage, less latency) if your CPU can encode and decode it quick enough, otherwise ...
The Inui cable says it supports 18W fast charging, which feels like it won't be enough. The Kuject cable says it supports chargers above 18W, but also says it doesn't support fast changing "for safety", so I dunno. I'm using a 30W USB C phone charger and it's able to keep the Q3 fully charged, while playing wireless.
