The Sri Varahaswamy Temple, also called Bhu Varahaswamy Temple, is a Hindu temple dedicated to the god Varaha, situated at hill town of Tirumala in Tirupati, located in Tirupati district of Andhra Pradesh state, India. The temple is situated on the northern premises of Venkateshvara Temple, Tirumala, on the north-west corner of Swami Pushkarini.
Simhachalam temple resembles a fortress from outside with three outer courtyards and five gateways. The temple faces west instead of east, signifying victory. There are two temple tanks: Swami Pushkarini near the temple and Gangadhara at the bottom of the hill. The temple houses a number of sub-shrines and a few mandapams.
The principal deity of the temple is Varaha, the third avatar of Vishnu. This is one of the few temples in India where Lakshmi is depicted with Varaha. Only three temples of Varaha exist in Kerala. This temple in Thiruvananthapuram is believed to be more than 5000 years old. [citation needed]

The Vishnu Varaha temple site is the largest of all historic sites near Karitalai. It has a 7 foot high and 8 foot long Varaha statue. It stands on a high platform facing north. To the immediate west of the statue are the ruins of a large 3-sanctum Hindu temple that was completely destroyed after the 12th-century.
