January 1, 2007 - Adam Air Flight 574, a Boeing 737-4Q8 operated by Adam Air breaks up in mid-air and crashes into the sea due to pilot error, killing all 102 on board. February 21, 2007 - Adam Air Flight 172, a Boeing 737-33A operated by Adam Air lands hard and suffers structural damage. No one is killed.
September 15, 1988 – Ethiopian Airlines Flight 604, a 737-200, suffered a multiple bird strike while taking off from Bahir Dar Airport. Both engines failed and the airliner crashed and caught fire while trying to return to the airport. Thirty-five of 98 passengers died while all six crew members survived.
On 1 February, B-52G (tail number 58‑0180) from the 72nd Bombardment Wing (Heavy) crashed at Ramey AFB, near Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. An incorrect trim setting during touch-and-go approach was determined to be the cause of the crash. All seven of the crew died including the vice-commander of the 72nd Bombardment Wing.
