The Charlotte airport is fantastic! Great options to get back to CA to visit family, etc. Although I prefer CA Mexican food, I certainly enjoy Carolina BBQ & sweet tea!! In summary, the move to Charlotte has been an enriching and engaging experience for me and my family. I still love CA, but now I love Charlotte too! Best wishes

Hi Everyone, in my quest to relocate from FL to the Carolinas, I wanted to ask for the pros & cons of the Concord, NC area. Not interested in Charlotte because I prefer a smaller city, so I started looking at Concord. I have been there but it has been years, so I plan to visit during Christmas season. Thanks for any feedback you can provide!
Finally, We decided to move to Charlotte by getting some second hand information from online forums, common friends about this place and they were pros/cons for Charlotte. However, we were more bias for this place because of name heard so many times compared to other cities.
Agreed. My only "problem" living in Charlotte is that it's an extra 3 hours drive time back to Connecticut from where we were / are now. We were in Charlotte for work but when the bottom fell out of the economy in 2007, and we lost our jobs we couldn't afford to fly anymore.
Schools are decent for NC standards, better schools are in south Charlotte/Weddington/Waxhaw or down across the SC border. Plenty of private school options. Public transportation in Charlotte is pretty lacking so plan to have a car. The suburbs are wonderful and are growing extremely quickly. My favorites are Matthews, Harrisburg, and Belmont.
Don't mean to hijack the post, but while we are at it, I would like to know which other areas in and around south of Charlotte, apart from Ballantyne, have good districts, popular among Indians and have a decent commute (30-40 minutes) to uptown. Ballantyne area is great, but it is very expensive for buying.
