The FIVB Volleyball Women's Intercontinental Olympic Qualification Tournaments is a volleyball qualification tournament for the Olympic Games contested by the senior Women's national teams of the members of the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB), the sport's global governing body.
The history of Olympic volleyball can be traced back to the 1924 Summer Olympics in Paris, where it was an unofficial demonstration event.Its addition to the Olympic program, however, was given only after World War II, with the foundation of the FIVB and of some of the continental confederations.
