Marist has been recognized by Sports Illustrated as having one of the top 200 college athletic programs in the U.S. [133] Student athletes at Marist routinely excel in the classroom. Marist College junior Kiana Pathirana is an accomplished member of the track and field team. The Massachusetts native holds the program record in the triple jump.
The Marist Red Foxes men's basketball team is the basketball team that represents Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York, United States. The school's team currently competes in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. The Red Foxes have qualified for the NCAA tournament twice (1986, 1987), losing in the first round in both instances.
