The Westlink Branch Library has temporarily moved to 7011 W. Central while the permanent building is expanded and remodeled. The temporary location offers a small browsing collection as well as common library services including card registration, holds pickup, public computer stations with printing, and photocopying. The Dr. Ronald W. Walters Branch Library is located in southeast Wichita, the newest branch of the public library in that area following previous locations at Lincoln & George Washington Boulevard (1956-79) and at Colvin Elementary School (1978-2003).
On February 14, 2022, the newly refurbished Evergreen Community Center & Library opened at the southeast corner of Evergreen Park. From 1973-81, an Evergreen branch library had been located in the community service center building on the west end of Evergreen Park.

Passport Locations. The Alford Branch Library and Evergreen Library & Community Center both have been designated an official Passport Acceptance Agency by the U.S. Department of State. Library staff at those locations can accept passport applications six days a week.
