MAPS Air Museum. The MAPS Air Museum is an aviation museum in Green, Ohio, United States. [1] Run by the Military Aviation Preservation Society, it is located off SR241 on the west side of the Akron-Canton Regional Airport. [1] The museum holds more than 50 aircraft, [2] most on loan from the U.S. Air Force or Navy for restoration.
The following year, Lane announced plans to build a 28,500 sq ft (2,650 m 2) museum. Restoration on the aircraft was begun in 1983 and the museum building was completed in 1984. A Sud Aviation Caravelle VI-R was donated to the museum by Airborne Express in 1985. In 1991, an extension was opened to the public. Lane died in 1995.
