Financial statement analysis is a method or process involving specific techniques for evaluating risks, performance, valuation, financial health, and future prospects of an organization. [ 1 ] It is used by a variety of stakeholders, such as credit and equity investors, the government, the public, and decision-makers within the organization.
Trailing twelve months (TTM) is a measurement of a company's financial performance (income and expenses) used in finance.It is measured by using the income statements from a company's reports (such as interim, quarterly or annual reports), to calculate the income for the twelve-month period immediately prior to the date of the report.
Relevant financial information is presented in a structured manner and in a form which is easy to understand. They typically include four basic financial statements [1] [2] accompanied by a management discussion and analysis: [3] A balance sheet reports on a company's assets, liabilities, and owners equity at a given point in time.
In the United States, a more-detailed version of the report, called a Form 10-K, is submitted to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
