Cole Creek: There was a post office with this name in the township from 1904 until 1907. [4] Volney: Post office opened in 1880, and closed in 1909. Despite being the current location of Beaver Township Hall, Volney is considered to be a ghost town. The town once included a church, cemetery, schoolhouse, and creamery.
Beaver Township was organized March 13, 1867. Levi Willard, Josiah L. Wellington, and Oscar H.
