The film is produced by Working Title Films and StudioCanal and directed by Anthony Maras, who co-wrote the script with David Haig. It is adapted from Haig's stage play Pressure which premiered in Edinburgh in 2014 and later moved to the West End. [3] Andrew Scott was reported to be leading the cast in July 2024 as Captain James Stagg. [4]
HanWay Films held sales at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival. [2] In January 2024, Lionsgate UK acquired the United Kingdom and Ireland rights. [6] The following month, IFC Films acquired rights to the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, where it is expected to stream on Shudder, with a planned cinema release by IFC Films. [3]
