Clicked on GroupMe iPad scam link. What do I do now? I got a message claiming to be from GroupMe support saying I won a free iPad. I clicked on the link and it said it was verifying my IP address and had me fill out a 3 question survey. It then took me to a page to fill out my personal information like name address and credit card info.
Group me is a great way to make friends in the class and find study partners. If they start sending answers or cheating just don't cheat with them and just leave the group. I'm a junior and have been in groupme's pretty much every semester and never once has anyone got in trouble cheating through groupme.
For the MS Employees who works on GroupME. Wow, the latest app from the Microsoft/Windows store on Windows 10, the app looks great! I was very shocked at what I was looking at since I haven't used a Desktop version of this app, been using it heavily on Android, but on Windows 10, and this app looks beautiful!
But its complex, same reason people dont like slack. Slack and discord do the same as groupme and more. But they both have so many more features that it can get confusing/overwhelming. At the end, we just want a texting platform that is easy and familiar (such as text messages). And groupme satisfies that.

Data Tab > Get Data > From Other Sources > From Web. Put in the full file path to your file. A new window will open. On the far right, you should see "Sources" with a gear next to it. Click the gear. A window will open. Make sure the "Open file as" is set to JSON. Hit OK. Then in the upper left corner, you should see "Close & Load".

Discord is fun but there's no privacy clause. If someone wants to see what you wrote in your chats they'll find a way. GroupMe is buggy shitware that nobody in the post-2017 world should be using. Slack is the best option I've seen around for now, and is what we used last year (and presumably still do) 1. Reply.
Hot-Take: You should avoid joining a class-wide groupme. I get that because of the pandemic its harder than ever to reach out to other students and get help. But after those cheating cases that were all over this subreddit, I feel like people should really reconsider joining these big groupmes, or at least staying in them past a week or two ...
