Symphony of the Seas is an Oasis-class cruise ship owned and operated by Royal Caribbean International. [8] She was built in 2018 in the Chantiers de l'Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire , France, [ 9 ] the fourth in Royal Caribbean's Oasis class of cruise ships.
The first large cruise ships were the Voyager-class from Royal Caribbean Group's Royal Caribbean International (RCI). These ships, which debuted in 1998 at over 137,000 GT, were almost 30,000 GT larger than the next-largest cruise ships, and were some of the first designed to offer amenities unrelated to cruising, such as an ice rink and climbing wall.
