The Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA / ˈ k oʊ t ə /) is a public transit agency serving the Columbus metropolitan area, headquartered in Columbus, Ohio. It operates fixed-route buses, bus rapid transit, microtransit, and paratransit services. COTA's headquarters are located in the William J. Lhota Building in downtown Columbus.
The Columbus Public Schools district purchased an area of 50 acres (20 ha; 0.20 km 2) for $1 USD and established what is now known as the Fort Hayes Metropolitan Education Center. Campus Area Bus Service (CABS) is a free public transportation system at the Ohio State University's Columbus campus. The system consists of five bus routes that connect various points of Ohio State's campus, and the immediate off-campus area.
