The Attorney General of Kenya is the head of the Kenyan State Law Office, the principal legal adviser to the government of Kenya, and a member of the Cabinet. Dorcas Agik Oduor is the current and first woman Attorney-General of Kenya. [1]
Oduor was nominated by President William Ruto on 30 July 2024, in a Cabinet reshuffle following the removal of the previous Attorney General Justin Muturi over the Kenya Finance Bill protests. [4] She was approved by the Kenyan Parliament on 14 August 2024 [4] and sworn in by Ruto at the State House in Nairobi on 20 August. [8]
Paul Kihara Kariuki was born on 11, May 1954 in Kiambu, Kenya. His parents are the Late Bishop of Anglican Church, Bishop Obadiah Kariuki and Lillian Wairimu the daughter of Senior Chief Koinange.
