St. Johns River State College is a public college in Northeast Florida with campuses in Palatka, St. Augustine, and Orange Park.Founded in 1958 (for organizational purposes) as St. Johns River Junior College, a historically black college, it is part of the Florida College System.

Blue Spring State Park is a state park located west of Orange City, Florida, in the United States. The park is a popular tourist destination; available activities include canoeing, SCUBA diving, kayaking, fishing, camping, hiking, wildlife watching, and swimming. The spring in the park (Volusia Blue Spring) is the largest on the St. Johns River.

Joe Hill Pickens (born November 5, 1958) is an American politician, educator, and college administrator who currently serves as President of St. Johns River State College. He previously served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2000 to 2008, representing District 21. Pickens was born in DeLand, Florida.
