The architect Daniel Libeskind designed the hotel which has resulted in a very unusual building with a complex facade and raw walls on the inside. The hotel is one of the biggest in Scandinavia with 710 rooms and 1760 beds. The hotel is close to the Ørestad Station and Copenhagen Airport Kastrup Lufthavn on Arne Jacobsens Allé 2.
The hotel is designed by 3XN and consists of two towers which reach 76.5 metres up with an inclination of 15° in opposite directions. The height was determined by restrictions due to the proximity of Copenhagen Airport and the tilting design chosen to optimize views. Ramboll was consulting engineer on structures, sewers and earthworks.

The furniture was bought from Paustian House and many eco-friendly solutions were integrated into the hotel construction. The construction started in 2007 and ended in 2009.
