The Tip of the Mitt Watershed Council characterizes Munro Lake as a groundwater-fed, relatively shallow lake. Carved by glaciers, it now provides a home for northern pike, bass, and panfish. It has a surface area of 515 acres (208 ha), a shoreline of 5.4 miles (8.7 km), and a maximum depth of 15 feet (4.6 m). [3]
The Tip of the Mitt AVA is an American Viticultural Area located in the northern Lower Peninsula of the U.S. state of Michigan. This Michigan wine region is approximately 2,760 square miles (7,100 km 2) in extent. It includes all or part of Alpena, Antrim, Charlevoix, Cheboygan, Emmet, and Presque Isle counties.
As of 2010 there are six levels in the hierarchy, represented by hydrologic unit codes from 2 to 12 digits long, called regions, subregions, basins, subbasins, watersheds, and subwatersheds. The table below describes the system's hydrologic unit levels and their characteristics, along with example names and codes.

Torch Lake is a lake in the Northern Lower Peninsula of the U.S. state of Michigan. At 19 miles (31 km) long, is Michigan's longest inland lake, and at approximately 29.3 mi 2 (76 km 2), it is Michigan's second largest inland lake, after Houghton Lake.
The lake's primarily inflow is the Torch River, bringing in water from Torch Lake and elsewhere in the Chain of Lakes. The lake is connected at the west to Elk Lake, and through Elk Lake, water outflows through the short Elk River. The Elk River then empties into the East Arm of the Grand Traverse Bay, itself a bay of Lake Michigan.
