A corroboree is a generic word for a meeting of Australian Aboriginal peoples. It may be a sacred ceremony , a festive celebration, or of a warlike character. A word coined by the first British settlers in the Sydney area from a word in the local Dharug language , it usually includes dance, music, costume and often body decoration .

Adult female southern corroboree frogs are 26–31 mm (1.0–1.2 in) long, while males measure 22–29 mm (0.87–1.14 in); [5] both bear vivid yellow and black stripes across the head, back, and limbs. The body and head are short and wide, the snout has a slight point, and the fingers and toes lack webbing.
This is not helped by the wikipedia article on corroboree. The importance of this distinction is the respect shown for ceremonial law business, which is only for the respective elders to discuss.
