Alia Bahauddin Toukan (Arabic: علياء بهاء الدين طوقان, romanized: 'Āliyā' Bahāʾ ud-Dīn Ṭūqān; 25 December 1948 – 9 February 1977), also known as Alia Al Hussein (Arabic: علياء الحسين), [1] was Queen of Jordan as the third wife of King Hussein from their marriage on 24 December 1972 until her death in a helicopter crash in 1977.

She has a younger brother, Prince Ali bin Hussein born on 23 December 1975, and older sister, Abir Muhaisen (born 1973), the latter of whom was adopted by Haya's parents after her biological mother was killed by a plane crash at their Palestinian refugee camp in Amman. In 1977, when Haya was 3 years old, her mother died in a helicopter crash.

Her mother was Wijdan Hanim, the daughter of Shakir Pasha, [2] who was the grandnephew of the Ottoman-Turkish Cypriot Governor of Cyprus Kâmil Pasha. Her father, Sharif Jamil bin Nasser, was the governor of Hauran; he was the nephew of Sharif Hussein bin Ali of Mecca. [2] Her paternal aunts were Musbah bint Nasser and Huzaima bint Nasser.
