Robert "Bob" Richards (January 10, 1956 – March 23, 1994), born Robert L. Schwartz, was an American local television personality on KSDK in St. Louis, Missouri, where he worked as chief meteorologist in the 1980s and early 1990s.
Ratings and revenue improved with the success of the Fox network, with total viewership approaching KPLR-TV, and led the station to start a local news department in January 1995. Under a deal announced in 1994 but carried out in August 1995, KDNL-TV lost its Fox affiliation and switched with KTVI to become the affiliate of ABC in St. Louis.
The station first signed on the air by Signal Hill Telecasting Corporation [2] on August 10, 1953, as WTVI, broadcasting on UHF channel 54. It was originally licensed to Belleville, Illinois (across the Mississippi River from St. Louis), and was the second television station in the St. Louis market after KSD-TV (channel 5, now KSDK) on February 8, 1947.
In January 1995, Janice joined WNBC as the weekend meteorologist for "Today in New York," "News Channel 4" at 6 and 11 p.m. In 2000 Janice added "Live at Five" to her duties. She is the host of "Wednesday's Child," a weekly adoption feature that airs Wednesdays during "News 4 You" and again on "Sunday Today in New York."
