U.S. Highway 96 (US 96) is a north–south United States Numbered Highway that runs for about 117.11 miles (188.47 km) entirely in the U.S state of Texas. Its number is a violation of the standard numbering convention, as even-numbered two-digit highways are east–west routes by rule.
SH 96 begins in League City at I-45, just south of the Harris County line. From here, the highway travels to the east, crossing SH 3.It then passes over the Union Pacific Railroad line and has an incomplete interchange with the parallel Dickinson Avenue; access to the street is available from westbound SH 96 only, while traffic on the street can enter only eastbound SH 96.
State Route 96 (SR 96) is an east–west state highway in the northern portion of the U.S. state of Ohio. The southern terminus of SR 96 is at a T-intersection with SR 98 nearly 2 + 1 ⁄ 2 miles (4.0 km) northeast of Bucyrus. Its eastern terminus is at an interchange with US 42 and US 250 in the eastern portion of Ashland.

The route was extended west to Denver City on May 20, 1940. On October 24, 1941, the section of the route from the Gaines/Dawson County Line to O'Donnell was cancelled.
