The "mainline" is a deluxe product with features & warranties Carrier doesn't have. They are made in the various Carrier factories.

I am in the process of putting a new heating and air system in my house, and was wondering if anyone could share their experience with me. I'm basically looking at a high efficiency gas furnace and a 2 1/2 ac unit. I have gotten quotes on both York and Heil systems, and they are within $300 of each other, with the Heil being the cheaper of the two.

Tempstar, Heil, and Comfortmaker all come from the same factory. They are differentiated by a T, H, or C as the fist letter in the model number. The manufacturer will honor the warranty across all brands. BTW, be sure to register the equipment within 90 days so the warranty will be 10 years instead of 5 for the parts.

Maratherm is made by ICP. Exactly the same as Day and Night, Heil, Comfort Maker, Tempstar and so on. When you guys bash a brand then spell the specs and why a certain brand is inferior based on the components. Maratherm has the same coil tubing, compressor, fan motor, relay, capacitor, fan blade and housing as all of the brands above.
Anyone have one? I've been looking at some air conditioners for no good reason lately and found something called "RunTru by Trane" and I was wondering if they are any good. Two of the 4 AC condensers at my house are American Standard, which are made by Trane, and the quality is amazing and they are very quiet. Just wondering if RunTru is the same.
