The following is a list of the largest attendances in the history of the American professional wrestling promotion WWE. The list is dominated by WWE's flagship WrestleMania pay-per-view (PPV) event, which since 2007's WrestleMania 23 has been held exclusively in stadiums that typically have a seating capacity of at least 70,000 people or more.
As the World Wrestling Federation, it became the first national promotion in the U.S. during the 1980s wrestling boom. The National Wrestling Alliance and World Championship Wrestling were both main competitors to the WWF during the 1980s and 1990s, however, all of their events were surpassed by the WWE by the early 2000s.

Although WWE claimed attendance numbers of 80,497 on Night 1 [31] and 81,395 on Night 2 (161,892 total), [30] wrestling journalist and historian Dave Meltzer contested these figures, saying they sold 67,303 and 67,553 tickets respectively, with maximum capacities of 67,530 and 67,603. [1]

While SMW was forced to shut down in 1995, ECW survived to become a national touring promotion as part of the "Big 3" in pro wrestling.
