Avila University / ˈ æ v ɪ l ə / is a private Roman Catholic university in Kansas City, Missouri. It is sponsored by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet and offers bachelor's degrees and master's degrees. Its 13 buildings are situated on a campus of 50 acres (20.2 ha) in Kansas City. The school enrolled 1,527 students in 2019. [1]

On August 24, 1996, Antonio Cañizares Llovera, bishop of the diocese of Ávila, founded the university via a decree. [2] The university is named for the city and Teresa of Ávila. In 2021, Forbes listed the Catholic University of Ávila among the 20 best universities of Spain. [3]

Ávila has two universities: the Catholic University of Ávila (UCAV) and the University of Mysticism, which became operational on September 2, 2008. [ citation needed ] There are three colleges of the University of Salamanca (USAL): the Polytechnic School of Ávila, the College of Education and Tourism in Ávila, and the School of Nursing.

Avila College is a Roman Catholic day school for girls which is located in the Melbourne suburb of Mount Waverley. The school was established in 1965 by the Presentation Sisters who accepted an invitation from the parishes in the Waverley area to establish a Catholic Girls' College. [ 1 ]
