Beginning in the 2006-07 school year, Durango switched to a block schedule, which consisted of 8 classes with 1, 3, 5 and 7 meeting on an "A" day and 2, 4, 6 and 8 meeting on a "B" day. The original Las Vegas High School opened in 1905 with a tent in the city. The school made a new campus in 1930 that opened in 1931. After 62 years A new campus was made in 1992 that opened in 1993.
