Ponca State Park is a public recreation area located on the banks of the Missouri River four miles (6.4 km) north of Ponca, Nebraska, in the northeastern corner of the state. Dead Timber State Recreation Area is a Nebraska state park in Dodge County, Nebraska in the United States. The park is 200 acres (81 ha) and sits at an elevation of 1,266 feet (386 m). [ 1 ] The park is open for year-round recreation including fishing, camping, and non-powered boating. [ 3 ]

[2] The Civilian Conservation Corps was active in the park in the 1930s: Under the work program guest cabins were constructed and improvements made at the swimming pool and picnic and recreation area. Roads and trails were improved and drainage structures built.
