Akira (アキラ, stylized as AKIRA) is a Japanese cyberpunk post-apocalyptic manga series written and illustrated by Katsuhiro Otomo. It was serialized biweekly in Kodansha 's seinen manga magazine Young Magazine from December 20, 1982, to June 25, 1990, with its 120 chapters collected into six tankōbon ' volumes.

Katsuhiro Otomo (大友 克洋, Ōtomo Katsuhiro, born April 14, 1954) is a Japanese manga artist, screenwriter, animator, and film director.He is best known as the creator of Akira, both the original 1982 manga series and the 1988 animated film adaptation.
Kurosawa was born on March 23, 1910, [3] in Ōimachi in the Ōmori district of Tokyo. His father Isamu (1864–1948), a member of a samurai family from Akita Prefecture, worked as the director of the Army's Physical Education Institute's lower secondary school, while his mother Shima (1870–1952) came from a merchant's family living in Osaka. [4]
Akira is a 2016 Indian Hindi-language action thriller film co-written, produced and directed by A. R. Murugadoss. It is a remake of the 2011 Tamil-language film Mouna Guru , [ 5 ] and features Sonakshi Sinha , Konkana Sen Sharma and Anurag Kashyap in the lead roles.
