Ras Dejen (Dashen) fo the Semen mountains was named after Ras Dejena. Ras Dashen is the corrupted name. He was Tigray’s high ranking official during the reign of Emperor Yohannes. Ras Hagos was a successor of Ras Dejena, then followed by Ras Gugsa Aray, and finally Ras Siyum Mengesha.
