Crispin Hellion Glover (born April 20, 1964) [1] is an American actor, filmmaker and artist. He is known for portraying eccentric character roles on screen. His breakout role was as George McFly in Back to the Future (1985), which he followed by playing Layne, one of the leading roles in River's Edge (1986).
For the role, Weissman wore extremely heavy makeup to have him resemble Glover, [3] and most of his scenes were shot with him either upside down or in the background. Glover eventually sued the producers for using his likeness without his permission. [4] He has appeared in roles in feature films including Pale Rider and Twilight Zone: The Movie.
In October 1990, actor Crispin Glover filed a lawsuit against Universal Studios for both the unauthorized use of his likeness and the use of footage of him from Back to the Future in Back to the Future Part II; his permission had not been sought for the latter and he received no payment.
