Oakwood Park Grammar School is a boys grammar school with academy status located in Maidstone, United Kingdom, the school is co-educational in the sixth form (years 12 and 13). The school takes boys at the age of 11 and over by examination (11-plus) and boys and girls at 16+ on their GCSE results.
St Simon Stock Catholic School is a mixed secondary school and sixth form with academy status, located in Maidstone, Kent, England.It was founded in 1967 and is the only Roman Catholic secondary school in the area.
The site also includes the Albion Building, hosting a range of subjects including languages, science and textiles. The Orchard Building opened in 2005 and primarily houses the English department and Study Room #1 (which used to be knows as the Orchard Library, until it relocated to the reading room, and the resources centre before that).
It also has a large room on the upper floor which was formerly the sixth form common room, but is now known as the small hall. In 2010 the school was given approval for a new building. Construction commenced in January 2011 and was planned to be completed by Christmas, however due to delays, it was officially opened in April 2012 for students.
The sixth-form centre houses a series of classrooms for the use of pupils throughout the school. There are still two sets of temporary classrooms. The school also has sports facilities, including an artificial turf pitch for hockey, two cricket pitches, tennis courts, football and rugby pitches, as well as the swimming pool, gym, and sports hall.
Maidstone Grammar School is a selective school, taking boys at the age of 11 and over based on their 11+ results, and also admits male and female pupils at 16+ based on their GCSE results. The school currently has 1292 pupils and 112 members of staff, with 69 teachers as of the academic year 2018–2019.

Sixth form itself isn't compulsory in England and Wales (although from 2013 onwards, people of sixth form age must remain in some form of education or training in England only; the school leaving age remains 16 in Wales); however, university entrance normally requires at least three A level qualifications and perhaps one AS level.
