Oktoberfest (German pronunciation: [ɔkˈtoːbɐˌfɛst] ⓘ; Bavarian: Wiesn, Oktobafest) is the world's largest Volksfest, featuring a beer festival and a travelling carnival, and is held annually in Munich, Bavaria, from mid- or late-September to the first Sunday in October.

The Hacker-Pschorr brewery serves various tents at the Oktoberfest such as Hacker-Festzelt and Pschorr Bräurosl as well as Herzkasperl-Festzelt at the Oide Wiesn. In both first tents the beer is distributed to the bars using a modern beer ring line. In Herzkasperl-Festzelt traditional oak barrels are used. [5]
Paulaner serves three big tents at Oktoberfest: Armbrustschützenzelt, Käfer Wiesnschänke and Paulaner Festzelt. The last one is the official Paulaner brewery tent. In 2010, they rebuilt it and added a central beer ring line that is serving all bars in the tent. [8] There are also various smaller tents at the Wiesn which serve Paulaner beer.
The brewery owns the Hofbräuhaus am Platzl, the Hofbräukeller and one of the largest tents at the Oktoberfest (Hofbräu-Festzelt). There are many types of beer brewed using original recipes handed down by Wilhelm V, the Duke of Bavaria. The current beers produced include a Weißbier and Helles, Maibock, Dunkel and Oktoberfest lagers.
