Bamm-Bamm Rubble (sometimes spelled Bam-Bam Rubble [7]) is a fictional character in the Flintstones franchise, the adopted son of Barney and Betty Rubble.He is most famous in his toddler form on the animated series, but has also appeared at various other ages, including as a teenager on the early 1970s spin-off The Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm Show and as an adult in three television films.
The program follows the adventures of Fred Flintstone, Barney Rubble, Wilma Slaghoople, Betty McBricker and Dino as tweens. They share their preadolescence with their friends Nate Slate (Fred's future boss), Philo Quartz and rich girl Dreamchip Gemstone.
The 100th episode made but the 90th to air, "Little Bamm-Bamm Rubble", established how Bamm-Bamm was adopted. Nine episodes were produced before it, but aired afterward, which is why Bamm-Bamm was not seen again until episode 101, "Daddies Anonymous". However, Bamm-Bamm did appear in a teaser in episode 98, "Kleptomaniac Pebbles".
At the time, Hanna-Barbera Records released a 45 single of "Pebbles & Bamm-Bamm's" recording of "Open Up Your Heart (And Let the Sunshine In)", which would go on to replace "Meet the Flintstones" as the show's closing credits for a few episodes this season. Pebbles appeared in the I Am Weasel episode "I Am My Lifetime" as an old woman along with Hanna-Barbera elderly characters. Pebbles appeared in the Family Guy episode "Quagmire's Baby", during a police chase. Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm appeared in a cameo as background characters in the 2010 series Scooby-Doo!
