The Oklahoma State Cowboys football program is a college football team that represents Oklahoma State University–Stillwater. The team has had 23 head coaches since organized football began in 1901 [1] with the nickname Aggies. The team played without a head coach until 1905.
There are more than 250,000 living Oklahoma State University alumni worldwide. Oklahoma State alumni include billionaire T. Boone Pickens, country music recording artist Garth Brooks, computer pioneer Dr. H. Edward Roberts, astronaut Wally Funk and South Korea Prime Minister Nam Duck-woo.
The Oklahoma State Cowgirls softball team represents Oklahoma State University–Stillwater in NCAA Division I college softball. The team participates in the Big 12 Conference. The Cowgirls are currently led by head coach Kenny Gajewski. The team plays its home games at Cowgirl Stadium located on the university's campus. [2]

Oklahoma State University (then Oklahoma A&M College) began varsity intercollegiate competition in men's basketball in 1908.The Cowboys (including the predecessor Aggies teams) rank 40th in total victories among all NCAA Division I college basketball programs, with an all-time win–loss record of 1,748–1,249 (.583) at the end of 2023–24 season.
Prior to 1957, Oklahoma State University was known as Oklahoma A&M. As was common with most land-grant schools, its teams were known for many years as the Aggies, though they were sometimes also called the Tigers. [4]
