I could go on but I mostly just wanted to bring attention to what an incredible actor and all-around fascinating person this guy was. He was truly the Rich Evans of his time. I hope that RLM will dig a little deeper into Eli Wallach’s career, as well as the wild behind-the-scenes story of “The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.”
wjbc. •. Eli Wallach was a chameleon who disappeared into a wide variety of roles. He was also a great stage actor who didn't make his film debut until he was 41 years old. Despite his late start, he collected over 90 film credits, working right up until his last film at age 98, the same year he passed away.
Yup! The dispute over the role actually lead to a falling out between Eli Wallach and Sergio Leone. Leone wrote the FFOD part for Wallach specifically, however when Leone contacted Wallach about starring in the film, Eli was already committed to another project during the timeframe when FFOD was set to be made.
Clint Eastwood, Eli Wallach, and Lee Van Cleef on the set of The Good, the Bad and the Ugly r/OldSchoolCool • Stevie Ray Vaughan R.I.P. acoustic guitar. 1980s
Eli Wallach nailed all of the little nuances, quirks and demeanor of a Mexican man. True Mexican bravado. When watching the film, he very much feels like he's one of my uncles.

Insomnia as read by Eli Wallach. I highly recommend this audiobook by legend, Eli Wallach. He captures the essence of Ralph Roberts and the dreary, hellish & bizarre events that Derry (again) goes through. However, the sound effects/music may be distracting. This thread is archived. Little me in Iran watching bootleg this in the late 80s would have given a finger just to know what that badass cigar tasted like. I also can’t tell you how many times I unceremoniously slurped and devoured my poor momma’s soup mimicking Eli Wallach when he first feasts.
