The Ontario Hockey League (OHL; French: Ligue de hockey de l'Ontario (LHO)) is one of the three major junior ice hockey leagues which constitute the Canadian Hockey League. The league is for players aged 16–20. There are currently 20 teams in the OHL: seventeen in Ontario, two in Michigan, and one in Pennsylvania.
Named for the former Olympic athlete and Chair of the York Region District School Board, Bill Crothers, the school opened its doors to Grade 9 and 10 students in August 2008. The school is 32 acres (130,000 m 2) and cost an estimated $32 million to build. The school was formerly an 18-hole golf course, Unionville Golf Centre, opened in 1961. [3]
The Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA) is an organization of student-athletes, teacher-coaches, student-coaches, teachers, principals, and sport administrators in Ontario, Canada. OFSAA is the second largest high school athletic association in North America, second only to the California Interscholastic Federation.
This senior team had a 2-year record of 43-1. Some of the players from this team represented Ontario and Canada in National and International competitions. The team was recognized by the Mississauga Sports Council annual Sports Dinner as the High School Team of the Year for their accomplishments in 2010. [12]

In January 2016, Russell High School made a $621 donation to the Canadian Cancer Society by purchasing the jersey of a former RHS student, Ryan Cranford, who has gone on to start a junior hockey career with the Ontario Hockey League's team, the Kingston Frontenacs.
