MV Aranui 5 is a dual passenger/cargo vessel that entered service on 12 December 2015 between Tahiti and the Marquesas Islands. [3] With a homeport of Papeete, French Polynesia, the Aranui 5 replaced the Aranui 3 which entered service in 2003.
Sirena, formerly R Four, Tahitian Princess, and Ocean Princess is an R-class cruise ship formerly owned by Princess Cruises. When part of the Princess fleet, along with the Pacific Princess, Ocean Princess was one of the two smallest in the fleet. In March 2016, she was sold to Oceania Cruises and renamed Sirena.
The Papeete was a schooner built in 1891 by Matthew Turner, a San Francisco Bay Area shipbuilder who had extensive business interests in Tahiti.
